How much does it cost to move?
The simple answer is that it varies. No two moves are alike and there are variables that make each move unique. Most companies either give you a flat rate based off of your inventory or they provide a hourly rate. OSSL provides either option based on the customer's needs. In order to get an accurate estimate we would either need to do a walkthrough or get a detailed inventory list from you.
What is the cheapest way to move?
To start always remember that you get what you pay for. That being said, some ways to save moving cost are the following:
- Book your move at least 1 month out (The earlier the better)
- Move the smaller items and leave the major furniture for your movers
- Get the basic service. Do your own packing and furniture disassembly if you can (This saves a lot on hourly moves)
- Be organized (Label your boxes and have them in an easily accessible area)
Is it cheaper to rent a Uhaul or hire movers?
This really just depends on your move. Also keep in mind Uhaul provides the truck, you still have to find someone to load it. Rule of thumb if the move is only a few miles the price may be cheaper, but it also depends on how many items you need loaded as well as what other services you need for your move.
